Her Body, Her Choice!

Every woman and girl, regardless of her status- deserve the right to health care and full control over their reproductive health. Are women and girls with disabilities given the same opportunity to access abortion care and screenings?

No. Sadly, many of them aren't in a position to access the care they need due to the lack of understanding, transportation, and resources. While many people believe that collecting money every month is enough to live on for those living with a disability- that's false. Over 90% of those living on disability can't afford essentials. While they may have decent healthcare- they're left out when it comes to contraceptives, mental health services, and preventative screenings.

Many people live under Guardianship. This means that someone is in control of how you live your life. Depending on the severity, they can make life choices for you even if you don't agree. This includes but isn't limited to Mental Health, Reproductive Health, finances, and contraceptives. Imagine living with a disability and you're under guardianship. This means they control every aspect of your life, including your comfort. If you don't agree with being involved in a new study that could or couldn't help your current state of health- you don't do anything about it because you don't have any right over your body. If you believe or do not believe in a religion- but your guardian does- they have the last say over what you can and cannot do.

Parenthood: Did you know that in many states, they can remove a child from the home if one or both parents have a disability? Systemic Discrimination against those living with a disability is wrong and needs more coverage than it's been receiving. Over 3 million people in the United States are living with a disability, but are still fighting for their right to be treated equally. Many women and girls are told they'll never have children or they can't only because of discrimination. Without any given reason they've pushed away from the idea of becoming a mother one day.

"A disability isn't consent to do as you please! If I don't say,YES. It means, NO!"

Sexual Abuse: It's a known fact that being unable to fight off attackers gives predators easier access to attack. Disabled women and girls are at a higher risk for sexual assault and harassment based on their disability. Abuse often goes unreported to law enforcement, leaving them a victim of future attacks. Which prolongs mental issues caused by trauma.

Offer to spread the word about medical freedom among those living with disabilities.

Visit your local doctor's offices and ask about their policies to make sure they're fair. If they're not- report them and contact your governor or state department that handles neglect against those living with disabilities

Sign petitions that are already ongoing, and lend a hand to those in need of help.
