Better Food Choices during covid/lockdown

Plan out your meals for the day. During the lockdown, we've all gotten a little lazy when it comes to keeping our health a number one priority.

( Healthy eating habits that is ) In this article, we discuss the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle while being in the house all day.

Your mind gets bored, therefore you want to eat. Keeping healthy snacks around will come into handy when you start to get bored. Instead of chocolate chip cookies, grab an Orange or make a smoothie. This will help shut down the want for unhealthy sugar habits.

  • Try to keep a healthy routine, even during these alone times. While it's recommended to keep a 6ft distance and wear a mask, keep at it. It's also important to take some deep breaths of fresh air daily. It helps keep your mind and body refreshed, as well as helps with Anxiety and Stress. Taking a walk just to the mailbox will benefit you more than you realize.

  • Now is the time to cook. Many of us aren't Marcus Samuelsson, Marco White, or Rachael Ray. That doesn't mean we can't put together a healthy dinner of Grilled Chicken with Rice and Vegetables. Take the time to learn how easy it is to put together a meal for which you can eat over the next couple of days.

  • Find alternatives to your junk food habits. Instead of eating half a bag of fried Lays, grab a bowl of Lightly salted Popcorn or Sunchips.

  • If you were like me, you had issues keeping food in the house once Lockdown happened. But, this time it's important to plan before that happens again. Frozen fruit and vegetables are key! Sometimes we can't always get fresh fruits or vegetables, but some are better than none.

  • Home workouts! Yes! You can still keep your body in shape at home. As many aren't aware, abs are made in the kitchen and not in the gym. What you put into your body makes a big difference. You can spend 40 minutes on a treadmill, but it won't matter if you eat lots of fast, unhealthy food afterward. | Here are some of our favorite trainers. | Chanel Coco Brown, Whitney Simmons, and Ashleigh Jordan.
